 This home is a part of the property of the Mooney School and  229 acres which Matthias Murfree inherited from his father Colonel Hardy Murfree.  The lots included in the  Moony School property are 1024 and 1028.  The owners since 1902 are:

Abernathy to Mooney, 1902; Mooney to Trustees, 1908; Trustees to Anderson, 1909; Anderson to Rather, 1909; Rather heirs to Mrs. Mildred C. Byrn, 1939; Byrn to Nelson, 1965; Zinn to Arnette, April 10, 1978.
