This style house is probably more native to Tennessee than any other area. Ranking only behind American
four-square in preference, it is usually selected because of its simplicity in design and economy in building.
Mr. W. F George built the house
in the late 1870's. He and Mrs. George christened the house “Serenity.”
Dr. Heffington and his wife came to Serenity in 1974. They did restorations
such as stripping doors, baseboards, crown moulds, and chair rails.
