Robert-Lamb-Dr. Egli

Thomas Benton Miles owned this property near the end of the 1890’s as well as the adjacent lot on the east side.  Both lots went back to Vine Street.  Mr. Miles operated the City View Hotel.  It was built before the Civil War and quartered a Union Officer when Nathan Bedford Forrest and his critter company galloped around The Square.  The hotel was finally destroyed by fire in 1923.
